Based on input from fishery stakeholders throughout the region, the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council (Council) developed the 2016-2020 Vision Blueprint for the recreational sector of the Snapper-Grouper FMP (Vision Blueprint). The Vision Blueprint identifies the goals, objectives, strategies, and actions that support the vision for the snapper-grouper fishery. To address the recreational sector components of the Blueprint, the Council developed Regulatory Amendment 26 to increase predictability for the deep-water component of the recreational snapper-grouper fishery, minimize regulatory discards, and improve regulatory compliance and consistency with relevant state regulations. This rulemaking would implement Amendment 26.
