Title: ●Harvest Specifications for the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 Pacific Mackerel Fishing Years; Coastal Pelagic Species Fishery Management Plan | |
Abstract:
This rulemaking action proposes to implement the Pacific Fishery Management Council's recommended harvest specifications and management measures for Pacific mackerel in the U.S. exclusive economic zone off the Pacific coast of California, Oregon, and Washington for the upcoming two fishing years (2019-2020 and 2020-2021). Pursuant to the Coastal Pelagic Species (CPS) Fishery Management Plan (FMP), the Council recommends such measures for the coming years to NMFS each June. Harvest specifications include harvest guidelines for each fishing year, which will serve as the primary commercial harvest quotas. Management measures include incidental catch limitations in the event an annual catch target is reached. |
