View Rule

This action proposes to revise the Department of the Army’s rule that was last updated August 30, 1996 (61 FR 45890), to remove outdated and internal content. The rule discusses special authorization and procedures for loans of Army materiel. Although Army property is not normally used for other than the Army’s primary mission, under conditions described within the rule, materiel not immediately needed to support mission requirements may be issued, exchanged, sold, and loaned to organizations of the Department of Defense (DoD) elements, non-DoD Federal departments and agencies, Civil Governments, special activities, and others. This revision supports a recommendation from the DoD Regulatory Reform Task Force.
