Title: ●Privacy Exemption: Investigatory Material Compiled for Law Enforcement Purposes for "Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) Bad Checks and Indebtedness" (M07010-2) | |
Abstract:
This rule proposes to add an exemption for a new Privacy Act System of Records for Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) Bad Checks and Indebtedness (M07010-2). The system of records is used to identify, manage, evaluate, and process an individual's debt owed to an MCCS business, service, or applicable supported Marine Corps Non appropriated Fund Instrumentality, as well as actions taken and documentation required in connection with these actions. Exemption 5 U.S.C. 552a(k)(2) is needed for material compiled for criminal investigative law enforcement entities, and for material compiled for other investigative law information purposes by an agency. This exemption limits access to certain law enforcement records in which this access could impair investigations, alert subjects to the existence of investigations, and possibly allow them to take measures to prevent detection or escape prosecution. |
