Title: Acceptance of Service of Process
Abstract: This rule provides DoD policy governing acceptance of process served on the Secretary of Defense. Part 257 will be revised to consolidate policy for the entire Department including any Military Service-specific procedures for acceptance of process served on the Secretaries of the Military Departments. Once this revision is complete, the component regulations for each of the Military Departments will be repealed. The revision of 32 CFR part 257 supports a recommendation of the DoD Regulatory Reform Task Force.
