Title: Adoption of Standards for Health Care Attachments Transactions, Acknowledgments Transactions, Electronic Signatures, and Modification to Referral Certification and Authorization Standard (CMS-0053-P)
Abstract:

This proposed rule would adopt standards for healthcare attachments transactions and electronic signatures to be used in conjunction with healthcare attachments transactions. It would also adopt operating rules that require acknowledgments to be used for the eligibility for a health plan, healthcare claim status, and healthcare electronic funds transfers (EFT) and remittance advice transactions. In addition, it would adopt acknowledgments transactions standards for the healthcare claim status, enrollment and disenrollment in a health plan, health plan premium payments, coordination of benefits, referral certification and authorization, and healthcare attachments transactions. Finally, this proposed rule would modify the standard for the referral certification and authorization transaction from ASC X12 version 5010 to ASC X12 version 6020.
