Abstract:
This Interim Final Rule implements section 3071 of the 21st Century Cures Act (Pub. L. 114-255 (Dec. 13, 2016)), and amends 42 CFR part 24. Section 3071 amended provisions of 42 U.S.C. 237, which governs the Agency’s Senior Biomedical Research Service in the Public Health Service. HHS’s Senior Biomedical Research Service was established 1996. The purpose of these amendments is to improve the Department’s ability to recruit and retain outstanding and qualified scientific and technical experts in the fields of biomedical research, clinical research evaluation and biomedical product assessment. |
