Title: Revisions to Subpart J--Pipelines and Pipeline Rights-of-Way | |
Abstract:
This rulemaking would revise specific provisions of the current Pipelines and Pipeline Rights-of-Way regulations under 30 CFR 250 subpart J, address issues raised by stakeholders regarding the existing regulations, and comply with E.O.s 13771, 13783, and 13795. This rulemaking would incorporate potential revisions to bring the pipelines and pipeline rights-of-way regulations up-to-date with current technology and state-of-the-art safety equipment and procedures, primarily through the incorporation of industry standards. The potential revisions could reduce burdens on the industry in several areas without adversely impacting key provisions of the original rule that contribute significantly to safety improvements, environmental protections, and equipment reliability. |
