Title: ●REAL ID: Deadline for No Longer Accepting Non-Compliant Driver's Licenses and Identification Cards for Official Purposes | |
Abstract:
This final rule amends the REAL ID regulation to clarify that Federal agencies may continue to accept for official purposes, non-compliant marked driver’s licenses and identification cards until October 1, 2020, which is the date after which Federal agencies may only accept for official purposes state-issued driver’s licenses and identification cards issued in compliance with the REAL ID Act and regulations. This regulation is consistent with the enforcement schedule messaged by DHS in public statements, information posted on its website, and in communication with various stakeholders. |
