Title: ●Texas Central Railroad High-Speed Rail Safety Standards | |
Abstract:
FRA is proposing a rule of particular applicability (RPA) that establishes safety standards for the Texas Central Railroad (TCRR) high speed rail system. The proposed standards are not intended for general application in the railroad industry, but would apply only to the TCRR system that is planned for development in the State of Texas. The TCRR system will operate from Houston to Dallas, on dedicated track, with no grade crossings, at a maximum speed of 205 mph. The TCRR equipment and track replicate the Central Japan Railway Company (JRC), Tokaido Shinkansen high-speed rail system, leveraging the Shinkansen's 50-plus year safety record, and will be used exclusively for passenger service. |
