Title: Hazardous Materials: Response to an Industry Petition to Reduce Regulatory Burden for Cylinder Requalification Requirements | |
Abstract:
PHMSA is amending the requalification intervals for certain DOT specification cylinders used in non-corrosive gas service in response to a petition for rulemaking (P-1696) submitted by The National Propane Gas Association. This rulemaking action provides regulatory relief and cost savings to industry; specifically, a reduction in the requalification costs and associated costs for personnel training. Additionally, this rulemaking action reduces regulatory burden, simplify compliance, and provide greater overall flexibility when requalifying these specific cylinders. |
