Title: Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR); FAR Case 2018-004; Increased Micro-Purchase and Simplified Acquisition Thresholds 
Abstract:

DoD, GSA, and NASA are issuing a final rule to amend the FAR to implement sections 805, 806, and 1702(a) of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for FY 2018. Section 805 increases the micro-purchase threshold (MPT) to $10,000 and limits the use of convenience checks to not more than one half of the MPT amount (i.e., $5,000). Section 806 increases the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT) to $250,000. Section 1702(a) amends section 15(j)(1) of the Small Business Act (15 U.S.C. 644(j)(1)) to replace specific dollar thresholds with the terms "micro-purchase threshold" and "simplified acquisition threshold."
