Title: Rule to Revise or Remove Unnecessary Vessel and Gear Restrictions to Increase Flexibility and Remove Regulatory Burden in the Groundfish Fishery | |
Abstract:
The New England Fishery Management Council may recommend reducing vessel and gear restrictions for groundfish. Potential management measures could include: modifying the limit on the number of hooks used in a sector and removing the prohibition on a vessel hauling another vessels gillnet gear in the sectors. This proposed action would implement that recommendation. |
