Title: ●TRICARE Coverage of Certain Medical Benefits in Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic | |
Abstract:
This interim final rule will revise certain elements of the TRICARE program under 32 CFR part 199 to provide for additional flexibility in covering services and supplies related to the evaluation and treatment of coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) in order to ensure that TRICARE beneficiaries receive timely access to care that is medically necessary and appropriate. Understanding of and potential treatments for this illness are rapidly evolving and likely to impact a significant portion of the TRICARE population; the Defense Health Agency requires additional flexibilities to administer the TRICARE program during this exceptional pandemic situation. The changes in this rule will be effective for the period of the COVID-19 pandemic. |
