Title: Justice Acquisition Regulation | |
Abstract:
The Justice Acquisition Regulation (JAR) provides Agency guidance, in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 1.301(a)(2), and establishes procurement regulations that supplement the FAR 48 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), chapter 1. As such, the JAR includes coverage of only those areas where Agency implementation is required by the FAR, or where Department of Justice (DOJ) policies and procedures exist that supplement FAR coverage and directly affect the contractual relationship between the Agency and potential or existing contractors. The JAR does not repeat FAR coverage and is utilized in conjunction with the FAR because the JAR is not a standalone regulation. The DOJ is updating the JAR 48 CFR chapter 28 to: (1) conform to requirements of the FAR; (2) streamline certain provisions; and (3) eliminate unnecessary or moribund provisions. |
