Title: Implementation of the Ryan Haight Online Pharmacy Consumer Protection Act of 2008 
Abstract:

The Ryan Haight Online Pharmacy Consumer Protection Act, which was enacted on October 15, 2008, amended the Controlled Substances Act and Controlled Substances Import and Export Act by adding several new provisions to prevent the illegal distribution and dispensing of controlled substances by means of the Internet.

Overall Description of Deadline: Regulatory authority of the Attorney General has been delegated to the Administrator of DEA. It is evident that Congress contemplated it would be necessary for DEA to issue regulations on an interim basis in order to implement the Act within the relatively short time period between the passage of the Act (October 15, 2008) and its effective date (April 13, 2009).
