Title: NESHAP: Coal- & Oil-Fired Electric Utility Steam Generating Units--Subcategory of Certain Existing UGUs Firing Eastern Bituminous Coal Refuse for Emissions of Acid Gas Hazardous Air Pollutants
Abstract: This rulemaking will put forth EPA's final decision on one of the three distinct actions included in EPA's February 7, 2019 proposal (84 FR 2670) regarding the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants: Coal- and Oil-Fired Electric Utility Steam Generating Units (commonly referred to as the Mercury and Air Toxics Standards (MATS)), 40 CFR 63, subpart UUUUU. In the proposal, EPA solicited comments on establishing a subcategory for emissions of acid gas hazardous air pollutants (HAP) from certain existing electric utility steam generating units (EGUs) firing eastern bituminous coal refuse. Specifically, this rulemaking will address EPA's final decision regarding establishing such a subcategory and acid gas HAP emission standards after review of the public comments.
