Title: Identification (ID) Cards for Members of the Uniformed Services, Their Dependents, and Other Eligible Individuals 

This rule finalizes an interim rule describing eligibility requirements for identification cards issued to uniformed service members, their dependents, and other DoD individuals. These cards are used for proof of identity, DoD affiliation, and to facilitate accessing DoD benefits. This rule amends the Department’s card policy. The rule also updates the CFR to match revised contents of various internal DoD policy issuances and National Institute of Standards and Technology Federal Information Processing Standards. This rule has been merged with, and will be finalized by, RIN 0790-AJ37. This amendment supports a recommendation of the DoD Regulatory Reform Task Force.
