Title: ●Department of Defense Supplemental Standards of Ethical Conduct Regulations Issued Jointly With the Concurrence of the Office of Government Ethics
Abstract:

The Department of Defense (DoD), with the concurrence of the Office of Government Ethics (OGE), seeks comments on the proposed amendments to the Supplemental Standards of Ethical Conduct for Employees of the Department of Defense (DoD Supplemental Regulation). The proposed amendments revise and update policies originally written in 1993, to supplement the OGE Standards of Ethical Conduct for Employees of the Executive Branch (OGE Standards). These amendments will ensure the continuation of a comprehensive and effective ethics program at DoD that better serves the DoD community and addresses ethics issues unique to DoD. The proposed amendments to the DoD Supplemental Regulation include changes in the following topic areas: 1) Designation of separate agency components for the purposes of gifts and teaching, speaking, and writing; 2) additional exceptions for gifts from outside sources; 3) additional limitations on gifts between DoD employees; and 4) a process to request a waiver of any of the provisions of the DoD Supplemental Regulation.
