Title: Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP); Strengthening the Program Integrity of the Medicaid and CHIP Eligibility Determination Process (CMS-2421) | |
Abstract:
This rule proposes to implement policies to ensure the integrity of the Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) eligibility and enrollment process. Accurate eligibility determinations are critical to ensuring appropriate use of federal and state dollars, as well as proper and efficient administration of the Medicaid and CHIP programs. With the goal of ensuring that only eligible individuals are enrolled in Medicaid and CHIP and that beneficiaries who remain eligible continue to be enrolled, this rule proposes changes designed to improve the accuracy and consistency of eligibility determinations across all states. |
