Title: ●Eliminating Barriers for Conducting Consultative Examinations | |
Abstract:
We are revising, on a temporary basis, our licensure requirements for medical sources who perform consultative examinations (CE) for us. This temporary rule makes clear that notwithstanding any provision of State law to the contrary, a medical source may perform a CE that we request, regardless of the State in which such medical source is licensed, provided that the medical source meets the licensing requirement in at least one State. We expect that this temporary rule will expand opportunities for in-person and video CEs during the COVID-19 public health emergency. |
