Title: ●Flexibility for Head Start Designation Renewals in Certain Emergencies | |
Abstract:
This interim final rule with comment period (IFC) adds a new provision to the Head Start Program Performance Standards under 1304 subpart B, Designation Renewal. This new provision establishes parameters by which the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) may make designation renewal determinations during widespread disasters or emergencies and in the absence of all normally required data. The designation renewal system is the system used by ACF to determine whether a Head Start agency will be required to compete for continued funding or will be able to receive noncompetitive renewal of its funding. Certain widespread disasters or emergencies may impact the ability of ACF to collect all normally required data for making designation renewal determinations. However, ACF must be able to make such determinations within a certain timeframe in order to ensure the continued delivery of critical Head Start services to enrolled children and their families. |
