DHS/USCG RIN: 1625-AC66 Publication ID: Fall 2020
Title: ●Update to Electrical Engineering Regulations
Abstract:

This proposed rule would incorporate by reference updated electrical engineering standards and add a limited number of acceptable alternative standards in 46 CFR subchapter J. In some cases, the later editions reflect more modern technologies, terminology, and practices that are already in use by industry, which would reduce the amount of equivalency requests from industry to the Coast Guard. This proposed rule would also eliminate several outdated or unnecessarily prescriptive electrical engineering regulations.
