DOE/EE RIN: 1904-AC72 Publication ID: Fall 2020
Title: Test Procedures for Illuminated Exit Signs
Abstract:

The Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA), as amended, requires the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to evaluate, at least once every 7 years, the test procedures for all covered products and either amend the test procedures or publish a determination in the Federal Register not to amend them. EPCA also requires DOE to amend its test procedures for all covered products to include measurement of energy consumption of each product while in standby mode or off mode.  In this action, DOE seeks public input on whether (and how) it should revise the current test procedures relating to illuminated exit signs.  Based, in part, on comments received in response to this notice, DOE will determine whether and how to revise the test procedures.
