Title: Test Procedure for Single-Package Vertical Air Conditioners and Heat Pumps
Abstract: Consistent with the requirements under the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA), as amended, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is examining whether to amend the current test procedure for single-package vertical air conditioners and heat pumps found at 10 CFR 431.96. As a result of this proceeding, DOE may propose and amend the test procedures for this equipment, or issue a determination that no amendments to the current test procedures are required. Once completed, this rulemaking will fulfill DOE’s statutory obligation to either propose an amended test procedure for this equipment or determine that the existing test procedure does not need to be amended.
