Title: Energy Conservation Standards for Automatic Commercial Ice Makers
Abstract:

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is initiating an effort to consider amending energy conservation standards for automatic commercial ice makers.  As required by the Energy Policy Act of 2005, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is examining whether to amend the current energy conservation standards for automatic commercial ice makers found at 10 CFR 431.136.  Not later than 5 years after the previous compliance date for automatic commercial ice makers, DOE shall issue a final rule to determine whether amending the standards previously established is technologically feasible and economically justified and will result in significant energy savings. As a result of this effort, DOE may adopt more stringent standards or issue a determination that no amendments to the current standards are required.
