Title: Flight Simulation Training Device Usage in Training Programs
Abstract:

This action would align the pilot training tasks and authorized Flight Simulation Training Device (FSTD) levels used in air carrier training programs to the technical FSTD qualification standards that are defined in part 60. This action will also incorporate additional part 60 defined FSTD levels into the pilot training and proficiency checking requirements which will provide air carriers with additional options to utilize lower fidelity and less costly FSTDs where appropriate for specific training tasks.
