Title: Possible Revocation or Amendment of Standard for the Flammability of Mattresses and Mattress Pads (Cigarette Ignition) | |
Abstract:
The Commission published an advance notice of proposed rulemaking (ANPRM) in the Federal Register on June 23, 2005, requesting comments on a rulemaking proceeding that could result in the revocation or amendment of its existing flammability standard, including a test for cigarette ignition of mattresses and mattress pads (16 CFR 1632). The Commission will revise the standard reference material (SRM) used for testing under 16 CFR 1632 and consider other amendments to the standard. Staff will prepare a briefing package proposing a rule to amend the SRM. |
