Title: Wake Island Code
Abstract:

The Department of the Air Force (DoAF) proposes to revise portions of its regulations that establish the Wake Island Code (Code). The General Counsel of the Air Force is the Wake Island Territorial Governor.  The current Wake Island Code was first promulgated in 1972 when the DoAF had a significant military and civilian presence on the island. In 1994, the DoAF terminated operations on the island and removed its personnel. The small number of personnel currently on the island work for the DoAF or its contractors. While the DoAF does not anticipate that Wake Island will again host a large permanent population, such activity is possible. Because of the change in use and the passage of time, it is necessary to revise and update the Code to reflect current and anticipated use.
