Title: Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Reclassification of Smooth Coneflower
Abstract:

The latest 5-year review for the smooth coneflower (Echinacea laevigata) recommends downlisting the species from an endangered to a threatened species. Accordingly, we are reassessing the listing status of this species under the Endangered Species Act. Our proposed determination will be based on the best available information at the time of publication. Based on our assessment, we may propose to downlist or delist the species, unless we determine no change in its status is warranted. The smooth coneflower is a plant found in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia.
