Title: ●Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Critical Habitat Designation for Rufus Red Knot | |
Abstract:
This rule will propose to designate critical habitat for the rufus red knot (Calidris canutus rufa) under the Endangered Species Act. This bird is found in the Canadian Arctic and several wintering regions, including the southeastern United States (Southeast), the Northeast Gulf of Mexico, northern Brazil, and Tierra del Fuego at the southern tip of South America. It is listed as threatened. If the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service finalizes this rule as proposed, it would extend the Act’s protections to this species’ critical habitat. |
