DOJ/FBI RIN: 1110-AA33 Publication ID: Spring 2021
Title: Child Protection Improvements Act Criteria for Designated Entity Determinations
Abstract:

The Child Protection Improvements Act (CPIA) provides a means for qualified entities to request a nationwide background check for the purpose of determining whether an individual has been convicted of a crime that bears upon the individual’s fitness to have responsibility for the safety and well-being of children, the elderly, or individuals with disabilities. As required by CPIA, this rule would establish the fitness criteria to be used by entities designated by the FBI to make such determinations.
