Title: ●Magnet Schools Assistance Programs | |
Abstract:
The Magnet Schools Assistance program provides grants to eligible local educational agencies to establish and operate magnet schools that are operated under a court-ordered or federally approved voluntary desegregation plan. Regulations governing this program were last issued in 2012. The Department of plans to propose regulations to support local educational agencies in establishing and operating magnet schools that incorporate evidence-based designs and strategies that have been shown to both increase diversity and improve outcomes for students. This action is in furtherance of advancing President Biden’s Executive Order 13985 on Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government. |
