Title: Energy Conservation Program: Test Procedure for Consumer Clothes Washers
Abstract:

Consistent with the requirements of the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA), as amended, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is initiating an effort to determine whether amendments to the consumer clothes washer test procedure are warranted.  As a result of this proceeding, DOE may propose and amend the test procedure for this product or issue a determination that no amendments to the current test procedure are required. Once completed, this rulemaking will fulfill DOE’s statutory obligation to either propose amended test procedures for this product or determine that the test procedures do not need to be amended.
