Title: ●Protection of Stratospheric Ozone: Listing of Substitutes under the Significant New Alternatives Policy Program for Motor Vehicle Air Conditioning in Heavy-Duty Vehicles
Abstract:

EPA has received a number of manufacturers' submissions concerning listings of substitutes under the Significant New Alternatives Policy program. This rule would propose listings based upon EPA's evaluation of one of these substitutes, HFO-1234yf, for use in motor vehicle air conditioning (MVAC). Such a listing would provide additional flexibility for industry stakeholders to use HFO-1234yf in MVAC systems of certain newly manufactured heavy-duty vehicles and would allow for the safe and effective servicing of MVAC systems with refrigerant contained in small cans.
