Title: Use of NASA Airfield Facilities by Aircraft Not Operated for the Benefit of the Federal Government | |
Abstract:
Subpart 14 establishes NASA's policy, responsibility, and sets forth the conditions and procedures for the use of NASA airfield facilities by aircraft not operated for the benefit of the Federal Government. NASA is publishing a direct final rule to make administrative updates to redefine the Moffett Federal Airfield (MFA) and remove the Crows Landing Airport (CLA) in section 1204.1401, redefine the MFA in the list of available airports from section 1204.1403, and remove the CLA from this list to emphasize that MFA is an aeronautical facility owned by NASA and operated by a private entity that may be made available on an individual emergency basis to a user with prior permission from the airfield operator. NASA transferred the CLA to local municipalities that now own and operate the airfield. |
