Abstract:
The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) is issuing an Interim Final Rule to expand eligibility for enrollment in the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) Program to additional tribal employees. On December 27, 2020, the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 (FY21 CCA), Public Law 116-260, was enacted and amended section 409 of the Indian Health Care Improvement Act (IHCIA)(codified at 25 U.S.C. 1647b) and expanded eligibility to purchase coverage, rights, and benefits under the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) Program to eligible employees of tribally controlled schools. |
