DoD, GSA, and NASA are issuing a proposed rule amending the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) to implement the Federal Acquisition Supply Chain Security Act of 2018, which was part of the SECURE Technology Act, Public Law 115-390. This law provides authorities for determining and mitigating supply chain risks in procurements involving controlled unclassified information, information technology, embedded information technology, and telecommunications. The law allows executive agencies to exclude sources or covered articles from any executive agency procurement action, including source selection and consent for a contractor to subcontract.
