Title: ●Modify Red Grouper Allocations and Annual Catch Levels and Targets: Draft Amendment 53 to the Fishery Management Plan for the Reef Fish Resources of the Gulf of Mexico | |
Abstract:
The rule would modify the allocation of Gulf of Mexico red grouper catch among the recreational and commercial sectors, and would specify a new overfishing limit, acceptable biological catch, and sector annual catch limits and annual catch targets. These actions are being taken in response to the most recent stock assessment for red grouper to ensure that the historical participation by the recreational and commercial sectors are accurately reflected and that recreational catch levels are consistent with the data used to monitor recreational landings and trigger accountability measures. |
