Title: Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Listing Determination and Critical Habitat Designation for the Peppered Chub | |
Abstract:
This final rule will make a determination on our proposal to list the peppered chub (Macrhybopsis tetranema) as an endangered species under the Endangered Species Act and to designate critical habitat for the species. The proposed critical habitat designation includes approximately 1,068 river miles (1,719 river kilometers) in four units in Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. This fish is found in Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. If FWS finalizes this rule as proposed, it would extend the Act’s protections to this species and its critical habitat as described in the proposed rule. |
