Title: Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Critical Habitat Designation for the Southern Sierra Nevada Distinct Population Segment of Fisher | |
Abstract:
This rule would finalize our proposal to designate critical habitat for the Southern Sierra Nevada distinct population segment (DPS) of fisher (Pekania pennanti) under the Endangered Species Act. The fisher is a medium-sized mammal found only in North America. This population of fishers is in California and is listed as endangered. We proposed to designate approximately 554,454 acres (224,379 hectares) in six units in California as critical habitat for the Southern Sierra Nevada DPS of fisher. |
