Title: Elections of Osage Minerals Council | |
Abstract:
This final rule will address how BIA conducts elections of offices of the Osage Tribe, including provisions addressing nominating conventions and petitions, election notices, opening and closing of polls, ballots, and contesting elections. This rule will delete most provisions of current part 90 in their entirety because they are no longer needed. Statutory changes and the Osage Nation Constitution have significantly pared down the role of the BIA in the Tribe’s elections. The only remaining portion that will be included in this rule states that BIA will provide, at the Osage Nation’s request, a list of voters and their headright interests to the Osage Minerals Council Election Board.
