DOJ/DEA RIN: 1117-AB60 Publication ID: Fall 2021
Title: Providing Controlled Substances to Ocean Vessels
Abstract:

DEA proposes to revise existing regulations regarding the dispensing of controlled substances to ocean vessels. DEA proposes to define the term "ocean vessel," remove the ability for a non-registrant to obtain controlled substances, revise the registration process for medical officers, and revise the recordkeeping requirements to enhance accountability and oversight. With this ANPRM, DEA is seeking the most current information on the industry’s practices to ensure the proposed revisions are efficacious.
