Title: Test Procedures for Commercial Pre-Rinse Spray Valves
Abstract:

The Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA), as amended, requires the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to amend test procedures with respect to commercial pre-rinse spray valves (CPSVs) at least once every 7 years, if it determines that amended test procedures would more accurately produce test results which measure energy efficiency, or make a determination not to amend test procedures. DOE has proposed to amend the test procedure for CPSVs to incorporate by reference the current version of the relevant industry standard and amend the definition of CPSVs to codify existing guidance on the application of the definition. DOE has tentatively determined that the amendments proposed would not alter the measured flow rate or spray force of CPSVs, and that the proposed test procedures would not be unduly burdensome to conduct. Once completed, this rulemaking will fulfill DOE’s statutory obligation to either propose amended test procedures for this equipment or determine that the existing test procedures do not need to be amended.
