Title: Showerhead Definition Rule | |
Abstract:
On December 16, 2020, the United States Department of Energy (DOE) published a final rule ("December 2020 Final Rule") amending the definition of the term showerhead and establishing definitions for body sprays and safety showerheads. DOE is reviewing this final rule as required by E.O. 13990, Protecting Public Health and the Environment and Restoring Science to Tackle the Climate Crisis, 86 FR 7037 (January 25, 2021). Following its review, DOE issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to propose to reinstate the prior definition of "showerhead" consistent with the purpose of the Energy Policy and Conservation Act. DOE is also proposed to remove the definition of "body spray" adopted in the December 2020 Final Rule. |
