Title: Threshold for Reporting Debts to Consumer Reporting Agencies | |
Abstract:
Section 2007 of the Johnny Isakson and David P. Roe, M.D. Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2020 passed January 5, 2021, provides the Secretary authority to prescribe regulations that establish the minimum amount of a benefits or medical claim or debt that the Secretary will report to the consumer reporting agencies (CRA). This regulation change establishes that threshold. The law requires VA to prescribe regulations no later than 180 days after the law was enacted. |
