Title: ●Definition of Individuals With Significant Disabilities
Abstract:

The Committee for Purchase from People Who Are Blind or Severely Disabled (Committee) is seeking comment in order to amend its regulation to revise the definition of severely disabled individuals or other severely disabled individuals to be consistent with the authorizing statute, the Javits-Wagner-O’Day-Act (41 U.S.C. Chapter 85). The proposed revision to the Committee’s regulation will update the terminology to reflect individuals with significant disabilities and will enable the Committee to more clearly articulate the prong of the statutory definition that requires the disabling condition(s) to be a substantial barrier to employment without substantial supports and services.
