Title: National Defense Authorization Act of 2020, Definition of Surviving Spouse for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses and Change to 8(a) Business Development Contracting Thresholds | |
Abstract:
The National Defense Authorization Act of 2020 made two changes that require SBA to update its regulations. Section 876 was a technical amendment regarding the treatment of surviving spouses under the definition of a small business concern owned and controlled by service-disabled veterans. SBA plans on adopting this statutory change by amending the definitions in 13 CFR part 125. Section 823 makes changes to the threshold in which a justification and approval is needed for Department of Defense-covered procurements. SBA will be updating its 8(a) Business Development regulations in 13 CFR part 124 to reflect this change. |
