Title: Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR); FAR Case 2018-018, Revision of Definition of "Commercial Item" 
Abstract:

DoD, GSA, and NASA are issuing a final rule to amend the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) to separate the commercial item definition into definitions of commercial product and commercial service to implement section 836 of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for fiscal year (FY) 2019 (Pub. L. 115-232). This is consistent with the recommendations by the independent panel created by section 809 of the NDAA for FY 2016 (Pub. L. 11492). This case implements amendment to 41 U.S.C. 103 and 103a.
