Abstract:

FWS will make a final determination on our proposal to list two distinct population segments (DPSs) of the lesser prairie-chicken (Tympanuchus pallidicinctus); FWS proposed to list the Northern DPS as threatened with a section 4(d) rule and the Southern DPS as endangered under the Endangered Species Act. This grassland bird is found in Southeastern Colorado, Western Kansas, Eastern New Mexico, Western Oklahoma, and the Texas Panhandle.
